๐Ÿšจ๐ŸŒŠ Ocean Rescue Incident ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿšจ

At approximately 2:30 PM, crews were dispatched to an ocean rescue along Flagler Beach across from Break Awayz.

Upon arrival, responders located four victims in the water. Members of Flagler Beach Ocean Rescue, Flagler Beach Fire Department, and the Flagler Beach Police Department immediately entered the water and successfully rescued all four individuals.

We are pleased to report that all four victims were safely removed from the water. Two juveniles were transported by Flagler County Fire Rescue to a local hospital in stable condition for further evaluation.

This incident serves as an important reminder to swim near a staffed lifeguard tower whenever possible. Flagler Beach Ocean Rescue maintains lifeguard coverage from 7th Street North to 8th Street South, providing an added layer of safety for residents and visitors enjoying our beautiful coastline.

Thank you to all agencies involved for their quick actions and teamwork that helped ensure a positive outcome.

Last night at the City Commission meeting, Flagler Beach Fire Department had the privilege of celebrating Firefighter Matthew Malach as he was officially pinned after successfully completing his probationary period.

FF Malach is a native Floridian who grew up in Fort Myers and later attended Valencia College in Orlando. He continued his path into the fire service by completing both EMT and Fire Academy training through Eastern Florida State College's fire training programs at their Palm Bay and Melbourne campuses.

A special part of the evening was having FF Malach pinned by his father, Andrew, while being joined by his mother, Susan. Having family present to recognize this milestone made the occasion even more meaningful and reflected the support that has helped him reach this point in his career.

Completing probation is a significant accomplishment in the fire service. It represents months of training, dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to serving both the community and fellow firefighters with professionalism and integrity.

We are proud of FF Malach's achievements and grateful to have him as a member of the Flagler Beach Fire Department family. We look forward to watching him continue to grow in his career and serve the citizens of Flagler Beach for years to come.

Congratulations, FF Malach, on this well-earned milestone, and thank you to Andrew and Susan for sharing this special moment with us. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘
