Showers and isolated storms are forecast to move in from the northwest this afternoon. Wind gusts up to 50 mph is the most likely outcome but some wind gusts around 60 mph can not be ruled out as well. Confidence is around 20-30% in the stronger wind gusts.

As we continue our support of International Code Council’s Building Safety Month, we would like to highlight how simple, routine maintenance can make a big difference in keeping your home safe.

A well-maintained home protects everyone who lives in it, and regular inspections help prevent both injuries and costly damage.

Consider incorporating these easy safety checks into your household routine:
• Clean dryer vents and replace HVAC filters according to manufacturer recommendations
• Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
• Check electrical panels and outlets for heat, buzzing, or discoloration
• Inspect plumbing for leaks or signs of moisture
• Clear gutters and remove overgrown vegetation or debris from around your home

Snow remains forecast, mainly for counties along the Colorado border. Snow should begin to mix in Tuesday evening, and fall until Wednesday afternoon. It wouldn't hurt to check road conditions during this time, especially on Wednesday morning.

Update on what we are calling the 392 fire. The fire is out. It burned approximately 344 acres. Our crew worked all night and day and were able to get approx 1000 rail road ties that were on fire out. All units are cleared. There should not be any threat left. Special thanks to the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control for all their assistance and for mapping the fire and sending us hot spot locations. The awesome crew at KC Electric were out all day replacing all the damaged poles. They ate a Lot of ash dust, blowing dirt and smoke all day!! But they didn’t quit! Thanks guys for what you do. We would like to thank FAS Flagler Aerial Service. They brought us around 40,000 gallons of water in the last 24 hours to help keep us moving. Special thanks to the school and volunteers for the lunch and snacks they were very much appreciated. Again thanks to everyone who helped us. We can’t thank you enough. Unfortunately tomorrow is another red flag day! So be cautious and careful. Please pray for all the other departments that are fighting fires throughout the area and neighboring states. And pray for some very much needed moisture.
