We’re incredibly grateful to the Americans Motorcycle Club in Big Water, UT (just North of Page, AZ) for their generous $500 donation in support of our upcoming San Juan River Trip this June! 🙌

This trip is so much more than just a few days on the river — it’s an opportunity for individuals with disabilities to experience adventure, build confidence, and create lasting connections in a supportive, inclusive environment. From navigating the water to camping under the stars, these are experiences that stay with people for a lifetime.

Support from community partners like the Americans Motorcycle Club helps make all of this possible. Thank you for believing in the power of inclusive adventure!

Heather Dalmolin didn’t set out to spend 24 years in public transit. What started as a part-time job while she was a stay-at-home mom grew into a career serving the Flagstaff community. Today, she is the General Manager of Mountain Line.

Her passion for service also led her to the Quality Connections Board of Directors. Supporting individuals with disabilities has always been personal—both of her parents worked in disability services while she was growing up.

“QC is pretty special in that it does more than house people; it develops people,” Heather says. “It helps people with all the things we take for granted.”

The partnership between Mountain Line and Quality Connections goes beyond the boardroom. Mountain Line has hired QC member Jordan, who has been detailing transit vehicles for nearly five years.

We’re grateful for Heather’s leadership and her commitment to helping build a more inclusive community in Flagstaff.

🌿♻️ You may notice something new outside the Flagstaff library — a recycling bin wrapped in golden aspens. And it’s there for a reason.

Through our Empowering Through E-Waste program, QC Office is expanding cartridge recycling across Flagstaff with support from the City of Flagstaff Neighborhood Sustainability Grant Program.

When you drop off toner cartridges, you’re doing more than recycling. You’re supporting employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and investing in a healthier community.

📍 Drop cartridges at:
• Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library
• QC Office (3012 E. Route 66)

Interested in hosting a drop-off site? Let’s connect.

Recycling with purpose. 💛♻️

💜 Love was in the air at Quality Connections — and so was skill-building.

This Valentine’s Day, our Adult Day Program teams in Page and Flagstaff found creative ways to celebrate while supporting meaningful goals like fine motor development, communication, financial literacy, and self-expression.

In Page, members baked and decorated festive treats, crafted Lego and food-coloring roses, designed personalized Valentine boxes (including a car, a Pokémon character, and even Cookie Monster!), and ended the day with music, dancing, and laughter. One standout creation? A box featuring zombie hands forming a heart with the message: “Dear Valentine — I Chews You.” 🧟‍♂️💕

In Flagstaff, members sang their hearts out at karaoke, created “snail-grams” for friends, and hosted a Valentine’s fundraiser selling treat bags, handmade cards, and conversation bracelets. The funds raised will go toward a future dance the whole group is excited about.

At Quality Connections, celebrations are never just parties. They’re intentional opportunities to build confidence, independence, and real-world skills — all in a joyful, low-pressure setting.

Because the best learning happens when people are having fun. 💛

Through the Work Training Crew program, Quality Connections partners with local businesses to employ teams of individuals with disabilities for tasks like janitorial work, yard maintenance, and other light labor.

What makes the program work so well for employers is built-in support. Quality Connections provides on-site supervision and handles wages, insurance, and benefits—so businesses like APS can count on quality work without added management responsibilities.

For crew members like Donna and Jonathan, these jobs offer something invaluable: hands-on experience that builds skills, confidence, and pathways toward long-term employment and greater independence.

APS is part of a growing network of local partners benefiting from Work Training Crews, including Late for the Train and Starlite Lanes. During the summer months, crews also support the Flagstaff Community Market and assist private homeowners with seasonal work.

This partnership shows how businesses can meet operational needs while supporting the disability community—creating opportunities that truly benefit everyone involved.

Each week, Quality Connections members Donna and Jonathan arrive at Arizona Public Service - APS alongside their Job Coach, Malaki Bailey, ready to get to work.

As part of our Work Training Crews, they take on essential tasks—cleaning restrooms, mopping and sweeping common areas, dusting, and even cleaning linemen’s trucks on certain days. For a busy regional utility like APS, this support makes a real difference.

But the impact goes beyond clean facilities. As Danielle Harris from APS shared, the team brings smiles, positivity, professionalism, and care into the workplace—brightening the day for everyone they interact with.

This is what meaningful work and community partnership look like in action. 💙

One of the great things about expanding our programs is how each location inspires the other. After seeing the impact of the social space at our Page location, we’re now creating a similar cozy, sensory-friendly lounge at our Flagstaff program.

This new space will support learning, quiet time, and meaningful social engagement, while also offering a welcoming place for meetings with caregivers, case managers, and providers—helping strengthen collaboration and continuity of care.

We’re excited to see this vision take shape and can’t wait to share more as construction continues.

The producers of the Emmy-winning documentary series Love on the Spectrum have reached out to QC to gauge if our members were interested in participating in an upcoming season. (Spoiler alert: they are.)

Airing on Netflix since 2022, the series follows adults as they navigate relationships and dating, with the goal of breaking down myths, celebrating differences, and sharing real stories—told in people’s own voices. As casting associate producer Isabel Suckling shared, the heart of the show is highlighting diverse, authentic experiences.

While the series primarily focuses on individuals on the autism spectrum, the producers are also open to considering others. QC is currently working to set up a group video call so interested members can learn more and ask questions.
