✨This has been an incredible year for Mount Elden Middle School and for Principal Tammy Nelson.
Under Tammy’s leadership, Mount Elden was named a 2026 Arizona School to Watch, a recognition that celebrates schools demonstrating academic excellence, strong systems of support, social equity, and a commitment to meeting the unique needs of every student.

This recognition reflects years of intentional work at MEMS to strengthen academics, build meaningful relationships, create a strong sense of belonging, and ensure that every student has a trusted adult who knows and supports them. It is a reflection of a school community that has continued to learn, grow, listen, and move forward together.

And this year, Tammy’s own leadership was also recognized statewide when she received the Arizona School Administrators Distinguished Administrator Award for Middle Level leadership.

Thank you, Tammy, for your passion, purpose, and unwavering commitment to the Mount Elden community. We are incredibly proud to celebrate you and all that you and your team have accomplished together!
