Southwest Native Lands Semester

Southwest Native Lands Semester SWNL is a learning collaboration of Northern Arizona University and Coconino Community College.

Southwest Native Lands Semester is funded by the National Science Foundation and is a learning collaboration between Northern Arizona University and Coconino Community College. Students will take part in a 13-credit semester that incorporates math, science, and social sciences while learning about issues affecting tribes in the southwest environment. In addition to this, students will also be part

icipating in several field trips including one to the Grand Canyon and a river trip on the San Juan River. In addition to the semester program, students will also be involved in the Learning Community. The Learning Community will offer academic, social and cultural activities and support through the Learning Community Mentor (Erin O'Keefe), faculty and elders associated with the Southwest Native Lands Semester.
