The City is wrapping up a traffic calming project in the Foxglenn area to make walking and biking safer for everyone. 🚶‍♀️🚴

A new crosswalk and center median with a pedestrian refuge are being installed on Foxglenn Street, giving neighbors a safer, more convenient place to cross. One sidewalk ramp is also being updated to align with the new crosswalk.

Want to help shape housing in Flagstaff? 🏠

The Housing Commission advises City Council on housing policies, needs, and programs in our community. The City of Flagstaff Housing Division is seeking Flagstaff residents (within City limits) with experience in building, real estate, development, or community issues.

The commitment is about 2 hours per month, with meetings held virtually on the 4th Thursday of each month from 1–3 PM.

The City of Flagstaff, in partnership with MetroPlan, Coconino County, Mountain Line, Northern Arizona University (NAU), and the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), is developing the Safe Streets Master Plan (SSMP) - a shared vision for how people move throughout the Flagstaff region today and into the future.

The plan will look at the entire transportation system - from streets, sidewalks, bikeways, and trails to transit and regional connections - to make travel safer, easier, more accessible, and better connected for everyone.

Help us guide the path forward by sharing your experience traveling around the Flagstaff area. Your feedback will help create safer, more practical solutions for Flagstaff’s communities.

August kept us busy, here is a recap 📸

- The Flagstaff Indigenous Commission hosted another inspiring Indigenous Code Talker Celebration, sponsored by amazing local organizations and businesses.
- A dedicated group of Flagstaff employees attended an intensive 4-day Inclusive Spaces training. Thank you Welcomed Here for collaborating with us and brining such an amazing opportunity to the city!
- Representatives from Communications & Civic Engagement and HR attended the NAU part-time job fair to recruit new friendly faces for the city!
- Human Resources gained two new employees this summer, so the team rallied together for a group photo.

Was your business impacted by the Pocket Fire?
The Small Business Association (SBA) has opened the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) assistance program to businesses impacted by the fire.

The EIDL program provides 30-year loans with an interest rate as low as four percent. This program is available to all businesses in Coconino County and Yavapai County, as well as neighboring Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave and Navajo counties, San Juan and Kane counties in Utah and Tribal Nations.

Walk-ins are welcome, and in-person appointments can be scheduled in advance at appointment.sba.gov. In person SBA assistance is available in two locations:
Coconino County – Opening Tuesday, August 25 Moonshot Accelerator Building 2201 N. Gemini Dr. Ste. 125, Flagstaff, Az 86001 Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Yavapai County – Open now, Sedona Chamber of Commerce 45 Sunset Dr., Sedona, Az 86336 Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

It's ! Do you know where your water comes from?

Flagstaff has 3 main water sources, and the total annual production from each source depends a lot on how much snowfall we get each year. More snow runoff = more surface water, more spring water, and less groundwater! 🌨💧
