While the City offers free dumping periods in the Spring and Fall, the remainder of the season we implement fees to help offset the costs associated with operating and maintaining the Yard Waste Site.

The City of Flandreau's 2026 Chip Seal Project begins tomorrow morning, Wednesday, May 27th, weather permitting.

Work is expected to be completed in one day, with flaggers on-site to guide traffic. The contractor is expected to return the following day to apply the fog seal.

This week is National EMS Week. As we celebrate, we want to recognize and thank all of our EMS staff. Those who are new to the team and those who have weathered this transition alongside us - your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving our community are deeply appreciated.

Ride smart, follow the rules, and help keep Flandreau safe for everyone!

The ๐…๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ฎ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ would like to remind residents of City Ordinance 632 regarding wheeled, electrically propelled devices, including electric scooters and electric bicycles.

For everyone's safety:
๐Ÿ›‘ Riders must obey all traffic signs and stop signs
โžก๏ธ Riders must follow the same traffic laws as bicycles
๐Ÿšด๐Ÿผ Riders under 18 are required to wear a helmet when operating or riding on these devices
๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Eye protection is required when operating over 20 mph

As the use of electric scooters and bikes continues to grow in our community, we ask everyone to ride responsibly and safely.

๐ƒ๐ข๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ? IMEG Engineer Shane Waterman also attends our City Council Meetings and provides project updates. At the May 18th meeting, Waterman reported the project remains on schedule. Discussion was also held regarding tree removal and temporary driveway access limitations within the project area and asks for patience from residents as work continues.
