Mrs. H’s kindergarten students began their first domain of CKLA Knowledge today and enjoyed acting out and reciting the nursery rhyme “Ring Around the Rosie”. They also had a multi sensory experience with making vertical lines. After practicing their grip on a vertical surface, they used a sand tray to create the lines. They’re off to a great start!

First day activities included our PRI FSCS Coordinator, Paula Miracle visiting kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classrooms to read The Color Monster, an engaging book that helps students identify, understand, and express their emotions. After the story, each grade participated in a hands-on, age-appropriate activity designed to reinforce emotional awareness, self-expression, and social-emotional learning. The activities provided students with opportunities to connect emotions to everyday experiences while building healthy communication and coping skills.

Our staff has been working on the landscaping! A huge thank you to Jerry Bright for donating the plastic, the Knox County Coroner’s Office and Knox County PVA office for donating the gravel, and to the Hammons, Murphy, Senters and Partin families and of course Mr Cornett for the labor. It’s not finished, but it’s a great start!
