Please see the below information regarding a Water Main Break

The DPW is actively working on a water main break on Telegraph south of Leonard just north of the overpass.

The left lane of southbound Telegraph Rd will be closed until further notice. The right lane of southbound Telegraph will be intermittently closed during the repair process.

It is highly recommended that you avoid southbound Telegraph during this repair. Be patient with traffic backups during this time.

Slow down when traveling through this area for the safety of our DPW workers.

There is an officer in the construction zone to assist the DPW with lane closures.

As a reminder, any violations issued to drivers in the construction zone have “Double Fines” associated with any points and other court costs.

Be safe when traveling through this area and please pay attention so that no workers are injured.

On Tuesday, August 11, The Wall That Heals which is a 3/4 replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in DC will be escorted into Taylor, MI from Monroe, MI. It will drive along Telegraph Road and The Wall will be in Taylor, MI August 13th to the 16th and open to the public at no cost 24/7.

The Flat Rock Community Foundation has just informed the City of Flat Rock that the Flat Rock Summer Blast events for THURSDAY, July 16, 2026 have been cancelled due to safety concerns in regards to the air quality.

Due to the storm, our DPW crews will be going through the neighborhoods all week picking up tree debris (branches, limbs, etc.) on every street. There is no need to "call in" pickups this week, but please be patient. Make sure the debris is on the easement and all facing all the same way to enable quicker chipping.
Thank you for your patience and assistance while our DPW crews work to clean up all the damage.
