1835 hours: roadway OPEN.

1625 hours update: roadway partially open. In clean up stage.

Flatonia Police Department and FVFD are on scene for vehicle fire in the 200 block North La Grange Street in Flatonia. Avoid area until contained. Use alternative routes. No injuries to report at this time.y

Update 1:30pm- the second subject has been apprehended at this time. All items that were stolen from individuals in Fayette County have been returned to the rightful owners. We would like to again thank the Schulenburg Police Department for assisting in the apprehension of the second subject. A formal press release will be made at a later time.

Update 10:10am- one subject remains at large at this time. Extra deputies are remaining in the area. Several stolen items have been recovered at this time, involving multiple jurisdictions. We would like to thank the Schulenburg and Flatonia Police Departments, as well as Texas DPS for their assistance this morning.

Update 8:35am- through further investigation it was discovered that two subjects were possibly involved. One subject is currently detained by Law Enforcement. The second subject wearing the black shirt and blue jeans is still at large at this time.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek is reporting law enforcement presence in the area of Hranicky Rd/IH-10/Bryant Rd (Engle area) due to several vehicle burglaries by a subject on foot, described as a white or Hispanic male, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who sees a subject matching this description should please call 911 or the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 979-968-5856.

A reverse 911 notification has been completed for residences in the immediate area.

FlatoniaFire AndRescue, Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Texas- Sheriff Keith Korenek, and the Flatonia Police Department are aware of the fire at IH-10 Eastbound Mile Marker 661/663.

From the roadway it appears that there is not personnel monitoring or managing the fire because of the embankment but all agencies are currently on scene and are going to monitor the fire throughout the night. There's no grass fire to report at this time, only the hay bales are burning.

City of Flatonia, Texas is aware of the city wide outage. Utilities has been contacted. Please be patient, as the roads are in bad conditions and city employees are driving in. It is also hailing. Flatonia Police Department is currently working major intersections that have no traffic signals working.

0339 HOURS

City Utilities are on scene and attempting to locate and address the power outage.

0537 HOURS

A potential fault or issue has been located. Utilities is diligently working to resolve the issue. Currently do not have an estimated time. But they are working through sleet and icy roads.

0734 HOURS
