🚨⚠️ ‼️COMMUNITY SAFETY & FLOODING REMINDER ‼️⚠️🚨

Just a friendly but important reminder that our community and surrounding areas are experiencing high water, flooding, rock and mudslides, downed trees, and downed power lines.

Please use extreme caution and remain vigilant of your surroundings, especially as it gets later and visibility decreases.

🚫 NEVER drive through high water. You cannot know for certain whether the roadway underneath has been washed out. Turn around, don’t drown!

🌊 Please remember that creeks and rivers can continue to rise even after the rain stops as runoff makes its way downstream. If you live in an area threatened by rising water and have a safe place to go, please consider evacuating early rather than waiting until conditions become more dangerous.

Our first priority is keeping the citizens of our community safe. When you pre-plan, stay alert, and make the decision to move to a safer location before conditions worsen, you can help protect yourself, your family, and reduce some of the stress and danger placed on first responders during emergencies.

📞 If you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to call 911. The sooner we know you need help, the sooner we can work to get help to you.

Please continue to look out for your neighbors, check on those who may need extra assistance, and avoid unnecessary travel whenever possible.

Keep our communities, our first responders, utlility personnel and the entire state of West Virginia in your thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. 💙💛

Shentel is currently experiencing a service interruption in Braxton Co. You may be unable to call 911. No estimated time of restoration.

Due to rainfall. They will be releasing water from Sutton Dam in an hour. This will flood S State St. Use caution or avoid the area!!!!
