Unfortunately due to the rainy weather that has affected the holiday weekend, we regrettably announce that the Memorial Day parade scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled. We thank all those who planned to participate or attend in support of the fallen and hope that you may find another way to keep those who made the ultimate sacrifice on your minds and in your hearts this Memorial Day. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

It is with such profound sadness and grief we share the news of the passing of Fire Chief Jeff Buck and Assistant Fire Chief Robert Shick Jr. of the Walnuttown Fire Company. Colleagues, friends, and fellow emergency responders they were to us; fathers, husbands, brothers, and loved ones they were to many more. Jeff and Rob, your absences will be heavy on the hearts of many for years to come, but the presence of each of you will forever be felt among all those knew you and loved you, respected you and trusted you, whether through your time with the fire department or otherwise. Our community, your families and friends, the emergency services, and the world in general have lost two dedicated and selfless leaders. We will never forget you, we will honor your service and sacrifice, and we will carry your legacy as we move forward.

….your journey is not over, it is simply complete. And we will see you on the other side our friends. Save us a seat, and until then, rest easy Chief Buck and Assistant Chief Shick. Your watch has ended, but your impact will live on forever. πŸ–€β€οΈπŸ–€
