On 6-11-2024 apx 9pm Chief Jackson of Fleming Neon Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the Neon area in attempt to serve a warrant on a female subject. During the arrest Chief Jackson was able to remove 27.5 grams of m**hamphetamine along with other controlled substances.

Officer Jackson along with Deputy Norris conducted a stop on a vehicle this evening. From that stop they were able to remove ma*****na, 8.4 grams of m**h and drug paraphernalia from the streets. We appreciate all they do every day to keep dangerous drugs off our streets.

Today with assistance of the Letcher County Sheriff’s Office and after extensive investigation, we were able to obtain and execute a search warrant on a residence in the Fleming area of the city. From that search warrant we were able to remove dangerous drugs from our streets. As a direct result of the search warrant several arrests were made for drug trafficking, possession and drug paraphernalia. Also multiple arrests warrants were served. We want to thank the Letcher County Sheriff’s Office for all their help.

We are happy to announce that we will begin accepting applications for a police officer beginning today 09/11/23. For both certified and non certified candidates. You can pick up and return your application at the new City Hall Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.

Good morning as you may know city hall has moved. To the former Carty funeral home on Main Street in Neon. The police department has moved to that location as well. Also the police department’s phone numbers has changed from (606)855-7900 to (606)855-7901 we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. You can call the new police department number (606) 855-7901 Monday through Friday 8:00 am.- 4:00 pm.. After 4:00 pm. you will need to dial 911. As always for any emergency’s please dial 911.
