How in the world is the third week of summer reading already coming to a close?

Big thank you to Mad Science Colorado for teaching us all about dinosaurs!🦖

Today we finished up by making very messy slime ( insects in amber!)

Big thank you to all of my junior high and high school helpers!!

Also thank you to Samantha Aaron Nielsen and Sandra Kinzie for always helping clean up our messes!🤦🏼‍♀️ and to the mommas who help clean up too!

Dino-Mite Science
6/17 cost $10 11:45-12:45
DINOSAURS Students examine fossil casts and explore the differences in the teeth of herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs. After learning about fossilization, children embark on a mini fossil excavation and make a imprint of a dinosaur tooth to take home.

Gem Mania
6/24 cost $10 4:45-5:45
MINERAL MANIA Students examine the formation of rocks by the Earth and learn to identify and classify rocks and minerals. They experience the thrill of panning for gems; the gems they find, they can take home for further study and investigation.

The science show is right after on 6/24 open to anyone!

Fire and Ice: This spectacular show thrills audiences with impressive science experiments. The event includes foggy dry ice storms and demonstrates how giant beach balls can float in the air. Students are amazed by sizzling, shivering scissors and special bubbly showers!

Say hello to the library's newest resident!

This year all we heard about were axolotls and how much the kiddos loved them! We even added some axolotl books to our library! Some of the kids delivered axolotl valentines to us!

I had the chance to get one and decided to share it with the school and library kids! I hope they will be thrilled!

Whew! Quite a whirlwind of week! First week of summer reading officially in the stacks!😉

Today we learned all about how big dinosaurs were! The longest we measured was 120 feet long!

Again thank you to all the junior high and high school helpers!🤩 You make our hearts happy!

Also big thank you to Sandra Kinzie for her support and just wonderful words of wisdom every day! It truly takes both of us to pull this summer reading thing off!

Thank you as well to our school district and town for the tremendous support of the library and this program.

And parents and grandparents thank you for trusting us with your babies! We really believe early literacy begins at home and bringing them to the library to play and learn is what being a village is all about!
