Over the past two days, the staff of Simons Middle School had the opportunity to engage in some of the most powerful and inspiring professional learning we have ever experienced as part of FC on FIRE. 🔥

As we finish this school year strong and begin preparing to launch into next year, our team spent time learning, reflecting, collaborating, and dreaming about what is possible for kids. Together, we explored personalized learning, student voice and agency, branding, creating a culture of surprise and delight, and so much more. Every session challenged us to think differently, lead boldly, and continue building a school culture where students and staff thrive.

A huge shoutout and thank you to Dr. Buddy Berry for spending the past two days with us and for bringing such incredible passion, energy, and vision to this work. His message reminded us that relationships, culture, and meaningful experiences matter deeply in education . . . and that schools can still be places filled with joy, excitement, belonging, and purpose.

The future is bright at SMS, and we are excited about where we are headed next.🖤💛

We extend our gratitude to Cheaps Chevrolet for generously providing six sets of AirPods to be awarded to one girl and one boy in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades through a random drawing held during our annual awards ceremony today. Eligibility was determined by achieving 98 percent attendance, allowing for no more than three absences throughout the school year. We appreciate this valuable partnership with Cheaps and recognize the positive impact of their support through the EVERYDAY Counts competition.

It’s been a crazy week, BUT we finally managed to get a picture of almost all of our middle school winners from last Friday’s FCHS and SMS Student Art Show!!! 🎨✨
