Beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 17, highway crews in Lewis County will temporarily close KY 1306 for a slide repair. This will be at mile point 5.2, just south of Skidmore Lane. Motorists should use KY 10 and KY 9 to detour. The road will remain closed during work hours, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily through Friday, August 21.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists to watch for flagged traffic on US 60 in Boyd County, on Sunday, August 16, as AEP crews upgrade power lines along Summit Road. AEP will turn power off to the signal at US 60 and Summit Road. Work will be between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from mile points 7 to 8. Motorists should watch for temporary lane closures, and stopped traffic at different intervals.

Beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, KY 161 in Mason County will be closed a quarter of a mile southeast of Flat Ford Road at mile point 1.5 for a small bridge replacement project. KYTC will be replacing a small bridge with a new aluminum box culvert. This closure will be a twenty four hour a day closure and it is expected to reopen on Friday, August 14 at 3:00 p.m.
Message boards are in place and traffic can utilize KY 170 and KY 324 to navigate around the closure.

Motorists should watch for flagged traffic on US 23 in Boyd County, on Wednesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 6, as state highway crews upgrade traffic signals. Work will be between 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The upgraded signals and signal heads will be at A K Steel first and then move to Town Center Mall in the afternoon, on both days. This is mile points 19-21. Motorists should watch for temporary lane closures and flagged traffic but on Thursday, August 6, signals will be turned off and flagmen will control traffic.

On Monday, August 3, pavement resurfacing will begin on KY 2 beginning at KY 7 and ending east of the western bridge end over the Little Sandy River. (Mile point 6.22 to mile point 13.17)
On Tuesday, August 4, sidewalk work will begin on KY 7, from Dylan Drive, James E Hannah Drive and Matilda Avenue which are located from mile point 19.81 to mile point 19.96.
Once sidewalk work is complete, asphalt work will begin on KY 7 at Rakes Mill Road (mile point 13.03) extending north to 5th Avenue/South Shore Road (mile point 20.09).
Both jobs will be working 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Watch for flagged traffic and one lane traffic on both jobs. Both jobs are expected to be complete by September 4, weather permitting.

🚧Nicholas County-State highway crews will temporarily close KY 606 daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, August 4, through Friday, August 7, for an embankment repair. The road will be closed at Bald Hill Road on the west end and at US 68 on the east end, with only local traffic permitted past these points. Message boards will be utilized during the project.

The draft STIP includes federally funded projects of all sizes over the next four years, from megaprojects like the I-69 Ohio River Crossing in Western Kentucky and the Mountain Parkway Expansion project in Eastern Kentucky to countless local road and bridge projects. Public transportation, aviation and federal programs to fund projects that reduce traffic congestion and air pollution are also included.
