It’s officially the first day of school at Hillsboro Elementary, and SRO Brian Cooper is ready for another great year with our Wildcats! 👮‍♂️💙

Officer Cooper is looking forward to welcoming students back, helping keep everyone safe, building relationships, and making sure our Wildcats know they always have someone at school they can count on. We’re sure there will be plenty of smiles, high-fives, and fun along the way!

🐾📚 A NEW SCHOOL, A NEW SCHOOL YEAR & A NEW ADVENTURE! 📚🐾

Today is an extra special first day for Flemingsburg Elementary School! Not only are our Bobcats beginning a brand-new school year, they’re also walking through the doors of their beautiful new school for the very first time! 🖤💛🏫

Officer Jeremy Poe is excited to be there for this big new chapter as the School Resource Officer at Flemingsburg Elementary. 👮‍♂️🐾 He’ll be there each day helping keep our students and staff safe, building relationships, handing out plenty of high-fives, and becoming a familiar face our Bobcats can always count on.

A new building means new classrooms, new hallways, new memories, and so many new opportunities — but the heart of Flemingsburg Elementary remains the same: the wonderful students, teachers, staff, and families who make it such a special place. ❤️

We hope every Bobcat has an AMAZING first day in their brand-new school and a safe, happy, and successful 2026–2027 school year!

SRO Sergeant Jacob Hartzel is officially ON DUTY for the 2026–2027 school year at Simons Middle School! 💙👮‍♂️

Sgt. Hartzel is ready for another great year of keeping our students safe, building relationships, sharing plenty of laughs, and being a familiar face our students can count on each day.

We hope all of our Simons Middle School Cougars have an amazing first day and a safe, successful school year! Work hard, be kind, make good choices, and have some fun along the way! 🐾📓✏️

🍎✏️ ’Twas the Night Before the First Day of School… 🚌📚

Backpacks are packed, outfits are laid out, alarms are set (hopefully! 😴), and all across Fleming County, there are a whole lot of excited—and maybe a few nervous—kids, parents, teachers and school staff getting ready for DAY ONE! ❤️

As everyone heads out tomorrow morning, the City of Flemingsburg has a few reminders:

🚌 Drivers: Please slow down, stay alert and watch closely for children waiting for and getting on school buses. Give buses plenty of room and remember—those flashing lights mean STOP! 🛑

🚗 School Traffic: Please pack a little extra patience tomorrow! With the new school opening and everyone settling into new drop-off and pick-up routines, traffic may be heavier than usual around our schools. Leave a few minutes early, follow directions and watch for pedestrians.

🎒 To our students: Whether tomorrow is your very first day of school or your last first day, we hope you walk through those doors knowing your community is cheering you on. Be kind, try your best, make a new friend and have a GREAT year! 🌟

❤️ To the parents: You’ve got this, too! Whether you’re celebrating, crying in the car after drop-off, or wondering how they grew up so fast—we’re sending you a little extra love tomorrow. 🥹

🍎 And to our teachers, administrators, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, SROs and every school employee: Thank you for loving, teaching, protecting and caring for our kids. We hope you have an amazing school year!

Tomorrow morning, our community’s most precious cargo will be on the roads. Slow down. Pay attention. Be patient. Be kind. 🚌❤️
