The Farmer Veteran Coalition is launching Standing Strong: Disaster Preparedness, Response, Relief & Recovery, a four-part webinar series built specifically for Farmer Veterans. Each session gives you practical, actionable tools to protect your family, farm, ranch, livestock, and livelihood - before, during, and after a disaster.

What the series covers:
• Planning Today Saves Farms Tomorrow: Building your emergency plan and resilient operation.
• During the Disaster: Protecting Lives, Making Good Decisions, and Staying Safe - Leading through the crisis moment.
• Relief Resources Immediately After Disaster: Navigating the Road to Recovery - Accessing USDA, FEMA, and financial assistance.
• Long-Term Recovery and Building Resilience - Rebuilding stronger for the long haul.

Next week, we kick things off with Webinar 1: Planning Today Saves Farms Tomorrow on August 25th at 12pm CST. The first session will cover disaster preparedness, risk assessment, emergency planning, family preparedness, farm continuity planning, and building resilient operations.

Interested in learning more about prescribed fire?

The Kentucky Prescribed Fire Council will be hosting an 8-hour Crewmember Workshop on August 29 at Clay Hill Memorial Forest in Campbellsville.

This classroom-based course is designed to give landowners, contractors, natural resource professionals, and anyone else interested in prescribed fire a strong foundation in how to safely and effectively plan and implement a controlled burn. Topics include fire behavior, weather, fuels, burn planning, equipment, safety, and more.
