2026 FLEMING COUNTY ROTARY CLUB MEMORY TREE PROJECT
The Fleming County Rotary Club is sponsoring our 5th annual Memory Tree Project. This project is designed to remember and/or honor our loved ones. 300 cut Christmas trees will be sold and will be on display around the Fleming Mason Energy Pavilion. Individuals and businesses can purchase a cut Christmas tree for $100 and decorate it in memory of or to honor their loved ones. The Rotary Club will furnish clear lights and signage for each tree. Funds raised from this year’s project will be donated to Local Charities and Service Organizations. Trees will not be reserved until payment has been received. If you would like to purchase a tree, please contact Joni Hazelrigg at 606-782-4526 or Regina Rose at 606-748-2841 or any Fleming County Rotarian. An official tree lighting ceremony will be held on Saturday evening, November 28th to kick off the Holiday season. The trees will be on display until December 31st where you can take a stroll down Memory Lane or drive by the trees. If you had a chance to visit our project last year, you know there were 281 beautifully decorated trees last year. We are looking forward to an even more beautiful event this year.

The Fleming County Rotary Club had Dr. Brian Creasman, Fleming County School Superintendent and Austin Hart, FCHS Principal as guest speakers. They gave an update of what is happening with the construction projects with the new Flemingsburg Elementary School and the Fleming Center next to FCHS. Each year the Fleming County Rotary Club chooses a local charity to donate the money to that we net from the Memory Tree Project. The Fleming County Back Pack Program was this year's charity. The Fleming County Rotary Memory Tree Project presented a check to the Back Pack Program for $10,000 at a recent Rotary Meeting. The Back Pack Program currently serves 77 families and 223 children in Fleming County. This program helps to ensure that children that are food insecure have food over the weekend when school is not in session. Michelle works in Interventional Pain Management and gave a very interesting talk on alternative methods of pain management. How quickly Christmas and the Holiday season is coming to a close. Make sure and enjoy the Memory Trees now through the end of the year. Memory Trees will need to have their decorations removed by January 1st, 2026. A reminder that ornaments or the items that you put on your Memory Trees are all that you should remove. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO LEAVE THE SIGNS AND THE LIGHTS ON THE TREES. Happy New Year from the Fleming County Rotary Club.
