Voorhees Corner Road Closure (8/19/2026): Out of an abundance of caution, the project contractor and local law enforcement have closed Voorhees Corner Road (CR650) while the milling and paving project is taking place. Daily road closures will take place during daylight hours and detours are posted. Please plan accordingly.

The Flemington Area Food Pantry’s 29th Annual Empty Bowl is seeking sponsorship support ahead of the event that will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026, as a take-out only event at the Pantry. Lunch will be available from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM, and tickets are $35. Guests will enjoy a delicious meal and a handcrafted bowl while experiencing, through curbside pick-up, a reminder of the lines our neighbors face when seeking food assistance. A pottery sale will also be held in the Walmart parking lot. Pantry visits are at an all-time high as families continue to struggle with rising food costs. This has been the busiest year in the pantry's 40-year history, with more than 21,000 visits and deliveries to over 3,350 neighbors who were sick, elderly, or lacked transportation. Coyote Sighting at Mine Brook Park: We received a report from a parkgoer on Wednesday July 15th about an encounter with a coyote at Mine Brook Park. The individual was walking their dog along the path and saw the coyote on the other side of the footbridge, along the trail that parallels the stream. The coyote ran towards the individual but did not make contact with the dog or its owner.
Please take the following precautions while in the park:
• Keep your pet on a short leash
• If you see a coyote, back away slowly while making loud noises to scare them off. DO NOT RUN as this may trigger their instinct to pursue prey.
• Be assertive – shout, throw objects, etc. – coyotes should have a natural fear of humans, and this will help maintain that fear.
If you cross paths with a coyote in one of our parks or anywhere else in the Township, please report it to the police by calling 908-782-8889.
