This year, Raritan Township is inviting local businesses from Raritan Township and Flemington to participate in this exciting community event. This annual event brings together residents, local businesses, organizations, and community groups for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community spirit. We’re currently seeking participants, vendors, and organizations interested in being part of the celebration. The Township Committee proudly invites residents and community partners to celebrate the official opening of the brand-new playground at Mine Brook Park, located at 116 Capner Street, on Wednesday, May 20 at 4:00 PM. This exciting new playground replaces outdated structures with modern, safety-focused play equipment designed for children ages 2–12. Features include age-specific climbing areas, inclusive swing options, toddler-friendly seating, belt swings, and a special “freedom swing” so children of all abilities can enjoy the fun together. Thanks to funding support from the Department of Community Affairs’ Local Recreation Improvement Grant (LRIG) and the Township’s Municipal Open Space Grant Fund, this project brings a fresh, inclusive recreational space to our community. Join us in celebrating a new place for families to play, grow, and make memories!

COMMUNITY PLANNER: Hunterdon County announced it is hosting a public meeting to encourage participation from area residents in the development of a county-wide Bicycle Plan at the County’s Main Library located at 314 State Route 12, Building #3 in Flemington, Feb. 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In honor of the 100th Anniversary of Black History Month, the NAACP of Hunterdon County presents “Rooted & Rising: A Century of Black History,” hosted at Flemington Presbyterian Church, Feb. 21 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The event serves as a celebration, and a platform to continue open dialogue about Black history.
