RTFC is proud to announce our latest graduates who have achieved Firefighter 1 certifications within the past 12 months.

These dedicated men and women have invested countless hours in rigorous classes, training, and testing to better serve our community, with the Firefighter 1 program alone requiring over 200 hours. Yet their commitment doesn't end there; they continue to support department operations alongside responding to emergency calls. We are thrilled to have them as valued members of the RTFC team and eagerly anticipate their ongoing contributions.

Welcome us in celebrating their hard work!

Efstathia “Ash” Andriopoulos-Dodd - Firefighter (Class 25-2)
Matthew VanDerveer - Firefighter (Class 26-1)

On this Memorial Day, let us remember all those who have fallen in service to our country. And the sacrifice of the families who love and miss them.

This morning our crews attended the Memorial Day service at the Raritan Township Municipal Building. From there, took part in The Flemington Borough annual parade. Crews then went to Station 2, where our members laid a wreath at our memorial in honor of our own fallen members.

As EMS Week 2026 draws to a close and we head into Memorial Day, we’re pausing to celebrate the extraordinary men and women of EMS who serve alongside us every day. Thank you to all our EMS partners! A special shout-out to our outstanding partners at the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad and Hunterdon MICU.

We also want to thank the RTFC members that have taken the leap into EMS to further support the public as EMTs.

Side by side with our fire crews, EMS teams form the backbone of emergency response in our community. Whether delivering lifesaving care in the most critical moments or standing ready to help a fellow responder in need, their skill, courage, and compassion make all the difference.

We’re truly grateful for your tireless dedication and unwavering commitment.

Happy EMS Week!

On Monday morning Tower Ladder 21 was requested to assist with a technical rescue in East Amwell Township. Tower ladder 21 was utilized as a high point for a rope system to remove the patient from the construction site. Great teamwork from all involved.

It is with profound sadness that we learn of the passing of Pete Serrone. Pete was not only a fellow firefighter and EMT, but also served as a law enforcement officer responding to many of our calls over the years.

We are honored to have worked with someone so dedicated to public safety and emergency service. Please keep his friends and family in your prayers. God speed brother.

View Peter Anthony Serrone's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

This week RTFC responded to a reported vehicle fire on Cherryville-Stanton Rd. Initial reports reported close proximity to a residential building and therefore upgrading the emergency response. Initial crews from Engine 21-2 and assistance from the Fire Marshals office knocked the fire before and part of the structure caught fire.

No injuries were reported. Crews were clear within the hour.

A great event for an even greater cause!

Come down to Flemington Ice Arena May 16th and support our local brothers and sisters in blue! We would love to see you there!

This is bigger than hockey. 🏒💙

On May 16th, we’re coming together for the 2nd Annual Battle of the Badges—all to support CPL Peter Serrone in his fight against ALS.

🔥 Tailgate kicks off at 11AM
🏒 Puck drops at 2:30PM
📍 Flemington Ice Arena

Two teams. One cause. One community showing up STRONG.

Come out, bring the family, and be part of something that actually matters. Let’s pack the rink, make some noise, and stand behind one of our own.
