🚧 THE CIRCLE IS NOW OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC 🚧

⚠️ TRAFFIC & HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INCIDENT — AVOID THE AREA ⚠️

A tractor-trailer has overturned at the Route 202/31 traffic circle, resulting in a hazardous materials incident.

Emergency crews are on the scene. Please avoid the traffic circle and surrounding roads until further notice and use alternate routes. Do not approach the incident area, and allow emergency personnel room to work safely.

Additional information will be shared as it becomes available. Please monitor official channels for updates and follow all directions from public safety personnel.

***MAIN STREET IS CLOSED***

Main Street in Flemington is now closed between Fulper Road and Capner Street as preparations are underway for the Corn, Beer, and Tomato festival.

🚧 THE FRONT ENTRANCE IS OPEN! 🚧

After several weeks of renovations to improve our handicapped-accessible ramp, the Flemington Police Department’s front entrance is officially open again!

Of course, we’ve been open the whole time… but now you can actually use the front door.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while this important accessibility improvement was completed. The new ramp and front entrance are ready to welcome the public once again.

A special thank you to Baker Construction and Martucci Engineering LLC for their hard work on this project.

🚧 MAJOR ROAD CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚧

Due to the Corn, Beer and Tomato Festival, Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Church St to Capner St from 7am to 11pm next Saturday, August 8th. Southbound traffic on Main Street will be detoured at Capner Street to Park Avenue, and northbound traffic on Church Street will be detoured to Central Station (via Mine Street to Park Avenue). The following intersections will also not be accessible to car traffic during that time:

Bloomfield Ave @ Main St
Court St @ Park Ave
Mine St @ Main St
William St @ Main St
Fulper Rd @ Main St

These closures are required for safety and event operations and are not flexible.

If you have any question or specific needs during this timeframe please contact the Police Department at 908-782-3434. Please be aware that not all requests will be accommodated.

***UPDATED SUSPECT PHOTOS***

Well…you all made your opinions on our last suspect photo pretty clear (pun intended).

After reading the comments, we have to admit…you were right. The original photo looked like it was taken with a potato.

So, thanks to some updated images, we’re giving you a much better look at our suspect. This individual is wanted in connection with a vehicle burglary and credit card fraud.

This summer, the Flemington Borough Police Department is proud to partner with goHunterdon to recognize and reward safe choices made by our community’s youth.

As officers patrol the Borough, they will be handing out “Safety Tickets” to kids who are spotted making smart, safe decisions—such as wearing a bicycle helmet, using crosswalks, obeying traffic signals, and practicing other safe behaviors. These tickets can be redeemed for a small prize generously provided through our partnership with Mr. Pops and Main Street Pizza and Tacos.

Kids, keep making those safe choices! Put on your helmet, stay alert, follow the rules of the road, and you just might earn a Safety Ticket from one of our officers this summer.
