Abandoned Dog Struck by Vehicle Adopted by FPD Chief; Ruckus Becomes Department Mascot

The Fletcher Police Department has a new face around the station, and a powerful reminder of compassion in action.

After being struck by a vehicle and left abandoned, a dog was discovered and brought into care by Officer Vaughn and a concerned citizen. What could have been a tragic ending instead became a new beginning.

Today, he is healing, recovering, and officially part of the Fletcher PD family.

His name is Ruckus, and he has been adopted as the department’s newest mascot.

Ruckus represents resilience, second chances, and the kind of community care that defines public service beyond the badge. He has already made himself at home at the station with Chief DeLonais and has quickly become a source of encouragement for staff and visitors alike.

There has also been some lighthearted grumbling about one recent incident involving Ruckus and the Chief’s beloved raspberry danish, conduct unbecoming is still under informal review.

A sincere thank you to Happy Hollow Animal Hospitalfor their compassion and care in treating Ruckus and giving him a second chance at life.

Welcome to the team, Ruckus!

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we enjoy will never be forgotten.

On this Memorial Day, the members of the Fletcher Police Department ask everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the day and remember those who gave everything for our country.

We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and to the families who carry their legacy forward.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🚨🚨 INCIDENT REPORT 🚨🚨

Fletcher Peace Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash just outside town limits earlier today. Upon arrival, officers located what appeared to be a… checks notes… TIE Fighter in a ditch.

The pilot, identified as “Grogu,” was found uninjured but unwilling to provide a statement. He did, however, attempt to use “the Force” to avoid a citation. It did not work.

Witnesses reported the aircraft was “flying kinda reckless” before spinning out. Officers also noted the absence of proper Oklahoma registration and insurance.

Grogu was released to a responsible party (one very stressed-out Mandalorian) and issued a warning for failure to maintain lane and improper spacecraft operation within city limits.

Reminder: Whether you’re driving a pickup or an intergalactic fighter, slow down and keep it between the lines.

👽✋ This is the way… to a warning ticket.

May the 4th be with you!

We are seeking additional witnesses to this incident, as well as any information regarding the suspect’s current whereabouts.

If you have any information, no matter how minor it may seem, please contact the Fletcher Police Department immediately.

We stand with the men and women of the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office as they mourn the loss of Deputy Thomas “Walker” LeMay, who was killed in the line of duty.

We are also keeping Wister Police Chief Andy Thompson in mind as he continues his recovery, along with all those affected by this tragic incident.

This is a solemn reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face every day, even on calls that seem routine. We stand in full support of our brothers and sisters in LeFlore County during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Deputy LeMay.
