Mark your calendar for Saturday November 14th. Join us for the second annual Fletcher Police Department vs. Veritas Christian Academy charity basketball game, followed by a cookout. The proceeds support our No Shave November fundraiser, going towards the Asheville and Blue Ridge Humane Society.

Last year Veritas squeaked by with a 60-54 victory. The police department will be looking to set things straight and right that wrong.

Let the fun begin!

It is that time of year. Starting today, officers can grow beards for our 5th Annual “No Shave November” fundraiser. There will be several officers looking to take the "best beard" title from our previous winners. So far, the police department has raised $25,000 to support organizations that make a positive difference in our community.

This year's fundraiser will support both Asheville and Blue Ridge Humane Society.

On September 23, 2026, Christopher Michael Loren Dorn of Hendersonville was taken into custody and charged with two felony counts for Obtaining Property by False Pretense, False Report to a Police Station, Resist, Delay, and Obstructing an Officer, and Driving While License Revoked.

Dorn initiated a scam by making a false report of a theft and credit card fraud to police for the purpose of obtaining a financial advantage from his bank. Dorn utilized his own credit card to make purchases, then reported his credit card stolen and the purchases fraudulent, receiving reimbursement from his bank.
