Fletcher Elementary School is nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina and is one of thirteen elementary schools in Henderson County Public Schools. We have a proud history in the Fletcher community and we are grateful for all the support we receive from our students, parents, staff, and community partners. As we close out another school year and send our students off to summer, we also take a moment to celebrate someone who has shaped so much of Fletcher — Mr. Haney.

After nearly 30 years in education, his journey began as an industrial arts teacher teaching woodworking, drafting, electricity, and manufacturing technology, then serving as an assistant principal, and then a principal. For the past four years, we’ve been fortunate to have him as our principal at Fletcher.

Today is his LAST last day of school, and while he would never seek the spotlight (and would likely redirect it elsewhere), we can’t let this moment pass without deep gratitude. Mr. Haney has a way of making people feel like family. He leads with calm, shows up with consistency, and always seems to have a story and a life lesson, right when it’s needed most.

We will miss you, Mr. Haney! Wishing you the very best in your next chapter—filled with rest, joy, and plenty of time to enjoy all the things you’ve more than earned. 🦊💙

Sweet smiles, tiny voices, and SO much personality packed into one kindergarten performance. We are so proud of these little graduates and all they’ve accomplished this year. Kindergarten has been good to us! 💛✨

Watching our kindergarteners sing “One Small Voice” was such a sweet reminder of just how far they’ve come this year. We are beyond proud of each and every one of them — the growth, the friendships, the confidence, and all the memories made along the way.

Nothing quite compares to kindergarten graduation. First grade, here they come! ✨

Field Day = SUCCESS! 💦☀️🎈🍿🎉

Our Foxes had the BEST day filled with exciting games, water balloons, tug of war, our famous giant water slide, popcorn, snocones, and nonstop fun from start to finish!

A huge thank you to Big Air Trampoline Park and our incredible Fletcher parents for volunteering their time and helping make the day so special for our students. And the biggest shoutout of all goes to our amazing PE teacher, Mrs. Grieve, for all of the hard work, planning, and energy that goes into creating a Field Day full of memories and fun for our Foxes each year. 🦊💙🧡
