Soooooo close we can taste it…. Literally, we can taste the dust but, we will have this all cleaned up for you to see the house on the 20th!

Come, bring a change of clothes for this kids. Celebrate our girl turning 5 and fill your bellies!

Dustin got the grinder going so if you need a stump or two ground down, reach out.

These stunning photos were taken right here on the estate grounds! ✨

We can't wait for the day when fellow photographers are wandering the property with their clients, using our beautiful land and curated vintage collections to create special memories of their own.

Moments like these remind us why we're working so hard to bring this vision to life. There's something magical about preserving history while creating new memories within it. We hope these grounds will become a place where creativity flourishes, stories are told, and beautiful moments are captured for generations to come. ❤️

Our first BIG donation! ❤️

I've been slowly chipping away at removing the glaze from these incredible early-1900s metal windows. We wanted to incorporate truly unique historic pieces into the estate, and the moment I saw these, I knew they belonged here.

They were priced fairly and honestly worth every penny. I still asked if there was any flexibility, explained our restoration project, and hoped for the best. Dustin and I made the trip to Armada to pick them up, only to be completely surprised when we learned they were being donated to the estate and our mission.

Because of that generosity, these windows will officially receive our very first donor plaque, recognizing their donation by Julia Neyer. ❤️

The story gets even better. After chatting for a while, we discovered these windows originally came from an old home in Flint. How fitting that after all these years, they found their way back home.

Thank you, Julia, for believing in this project and helping preserve a little piece of history. We can't wait to give these beautiful windows a second life at the estate.

And Pita... without further ado — your floral house windows, BFF. 🌸🏡❤️ I have a feeling these beauties are going to fit right into your vision.

The boys worked indoors today while Veda and I tackled the rocks outside. I may be old, crooked, and exhausted 24/7… but at least I still have a solid work ethic 🤣

I am SO sore. We’re trying to move most of the smaller field stones so the tractor can come through and handle the massive boulders. Every single one of these stones will eventually be incorporated into the English courtyard around the eco pond and the huge bridge, so seeing the vision slowly come together makes all the aches worth it.

I’m also beyond happy that the boys should have most of the kitchen ceiling removed by the end of today.

Thank you, thank you, Durkee 🙌🏼 Dustin and I appreciate you!

See these amazing people? They’ve been helping us thoughtfully plan out the estate grounds, and we are beyond grateful for the knowledge, support, and vision they’ve brought to this project. 🌿

Max McDonald has been an incredible resource and will more than likely be taking the lead on the commercial kitchen and community garden. We are so excited to grow alongside him and see where this journey takes us.

Amy Freeman is truly a wealth of knowledge. Sometimes she throws so much information at me my brain can barely keep up — but honestly, it’s amazing learning from someone so passionate and experienced.

And then there’s Molly Wozniak, who came out and helped us better understand what should stay and what shouldn’t on the land. Because of her guidance, we are leaning even more into native plants to help support our local pollinators, wildlife, and ecosystem.

It’s such an incredible feeling to be surrounded by people who genuinely care about conservation, community, education, and the future of this historic property. We cannot wait to continue sharing this journey with all of you. 💚

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, I felt pulled to share these 💛

This house… it’s just PURE magic when it comes to natural light and charm. Lately, it’s been even more special—blessed with not one, but TWO beautiful baby bumps. And it got me thinking… how many mamas have stood in these same rooms, hands resting on growing bellies, over the past 180 years?

I know Sarah brought all of her babies into the world right in the very room where many of these photos were taken. That thought alone gives me chills. The walls here don’t just hold up a house—they hold stories, love, strength, and generations of motherhood.

Even though this house can bring us endless stress (for now 😅), moments like this remind me why we’re here. There’s something so humbling and beautiful about being part of its story, even for a little while.

To all the mamas—past, present, and growing—this one’s for you 🤍

What do you think? Does the house give off historical charm? I LOVE that they chose to have their pics in the house mid restoration.

Little Veda took a trip for the estate’s Meat rabbits! 🐇 awww yeah! She’s so excited and as soon as we got in the car she said “hmm, I wonder what they will taste like”.

We’re so happy that we’ve decided to start homesteading so our kids are comfortable raising and growing their own food. 🐰
