For the last few days, the Michigan National Guard took on the mission to introduce our students to the broad range of opportunities available to them after the high school graduation. Students were exposed to opportunities in the medical, IT, automotive, culinary and public safety fields. Thank you, Mr. Roberts, for organizing this event, and thank you gentlemen for your service to our country and to our students!

MCC & BeatsXBeers will take over Brush Park in downtown Flint for the WELCOME BACK event of the year Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. to midnight. College and HS school students are invited to bring their friends for a Fall Fest filled with music , FREE food vouchers, food trucks, a vendor area featuring local artists and entrepreneurs, and larger-than-life games to challenge friends and classmates.

The Consumers Energy Foundation is sponsoring free food vouchers for the first 500 people to visit the Consumers Energy vendor’s table. Other event sponsors include Health Alliance Plus, GST Michigan Works!, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, and the Protect Michigan Commission, who will be on hand to provide free COVID vaccines from 6 to 10 p.m.
