Still need to get your taxes done? Michigan Works is open on Wednesdays (10:00am-2:00pm). An intake specialist will upload your documents for tax preparation by certified IRS tax preparers (no face to face tax preparation). If you have earned income under $57,000, this site is for you. Need to file for the Home Heating Credit, stop by. Details and what to bring are listed in the picture.
There are some changes to our DROP OFF - INTAKE ONLY sites, effective 2.28.2022. Please be sure to review the schedule.
Due to the weather, the drop off sites will be closed on Thursday, February 3.
Tax season is starting and our tax sites are getting ready to assist you. If you have earned income of $57,000 or less, have your taxes prepared and e-filed for free by an IRS certified volunteer. For more information on locations and what to bring to your appointment, go to

Did you receive the Economic Impact Payments (stimulus payments)? Remember to bring the amounts received with you to your tax appointment.
Did you know: If you receive the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Congress has approved a new ‘lookback rule’ which means you can use either your 2019 or 2020 income on your taxes and get the largest refund possible this year. Be sure to bring your 2019 taxes to your VITA meeting so that our IRS Certified tax preparers can calculate your largest refund possible this year!
