The SVRC at the University of Michigan-Flint is a space for student veterans to access resources, en
Our philosophy is one of respect, appreciation, inclusiveness, and recognition that veterans have concerns and experiences that differ from those of typical college student. The Student Veterans Resource Center, located in 131 University Pavilion, provides services for service members and veterans, as well as their spouses and dependents. Our staff is available to assist with academic, financial,
and transition support services, including information regarding use of VA Educational Benefits. We have a wide network both on and off campus for referrals to a wide variety of services and programs. In addition to our services, we also have a student veterans lounge. The lounge area is home to three computer stations and printer, and space to study and socialize while on campus. Services include:
• Assistance with the admission application process
• Review of military transfer credit recommendations
• Information about using financial aid
• Assistance using VA Educational Benefits or Tuition Assistance programs
• Scholarship opportunities
• Support to student veterans organizations and community involvement
Operating as usual

Today, December 7, is the 81st anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This attack launched the US officially into World War 2. Please remember the brave sailors who survived the attack on our homeland and the more than 2,400 souls who perished that day at the hand of a relentless enemy at that time.

De-stress while petting dogs!
"Therapy dogs are sometimes called "comfort dogs." They support a person's mental health by providing attention and comfort. Their sweet demeanors and unconditional love may have a therapeutic benefit to those who face difficult health challenges. Unlike service dogs, however, anyone can enjoy a therapy dog."- verywellmind.com
University of Michigan-Flint is this month’s Featured Campus! “University of Michigan - Flint is this month’s Featured Campus! “UM-Flint has really gotten off to a great start. Their team and campus have passion for the program and hit the ground running! They have reported remarkable faculty support and engagement. They also hosted an open house at their Veteran Service Center and sent out welcome emails to all their student veterans. Additionally, they engaged with off campus resources and incorporated that into their open house. It is clear the U-M - Flint PAVE team is there to support one another and their student veterans,” says Program Manager Kali Lake.
Keep up the great work, U-M - Flint!
