This week, the Rotary Club of Flint is honored to welcome Stefanie Worth, Founder & CEO of Voices of Winged Warriors, as our guest speaker. Stefanie founded VoWW following the loss of her 26-year-old son, Thomas, to complications from sickle cell disease in 2023. Drawing on more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership and advocacy experience, she is working to improve quality of life and quality of care for people living with sickle cell while supporting those navigating loss. Through programs focused on advocacy, wellness, education and better emergency care, Stefanie is turning grief into meaningful action. Rotarians, please bring a guest and join us Friday at noon to hear Stefanie’s powerful story and learn more about how VoWW is making a difference in the community.

Last Friday, Rotary Club of Flint President Nick Godlesky really nailed his role...literally. He demonstrated the classic sideshow stunt known as the Human Blockhead, driving a 4-inch nail into his nose to the amazement (and slight discomfort) of everyone in the room. Thankfully, if things had gone sideways, we were in excellent hands with fellow Rotarian Dr. Bobby Mukkamala in the room – board-certified otolaryngologist and President of the American Medical Association. Fortunately, no Rotarians were harmed in the making of this video and Nick lived to preside over another meeting. Service Above Self? Absolutely. Nail Above Nostril? Just this once.
