Enrichment Highlight 💥🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Dr. Darcelle Robinson from the Donations with Love Foundation came out to the RACS programs and helped our K-5 students discover their social-emotional superpowers in support of our anti-bullying initiative!

Through engaging activities and meaningful conversations, students learned the importance of kindness, empathy, confidence, and using their voices to uplift others. We love creating opportunities for our students to grow not only academically, but emotionally and socially as well.

Thank you to Dr. Robinson and the Donations with Love Foundation for pouring into our youth and helping empower the next generation of leaders! 💙

This year marks our 22nd Program Year, and we’re celebrating by looking for 22 Champions each month from June through August to support Motherly Intercession through our Round-Up Campaign.

By simply rounding up your spare change, you can help provide educational enrichment, mentoring, and support services for children and families impacted by incarceration.

Enrichment Highlight 🧠💙

Voices for Children came down to RACS City to facilitate ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) trainings with our students. Our youth truly enjoyed the opportunity to become more enlightened on how community, experiences, and relationships can impact character and personal growth.

These meaningful conversations encouraged self-awareness, empathy, and positive decision-making while helping students better understand the importance of support systems and healthy communities.

Special thanks to Mr. Antwon Curtis, Outreach & Admissions Counselor for Job Corps, for visiting our RACS+ 6th–12th grade students to share information about the opportunities available through the Flint Job Corps campus.

At RACS+, we are committed to helping youth unlock their futures by exposing them to pathways focused on workforce readiness, skill building, independence, and college and career preparation. Several of our students expressed interest in the program and saw how it could support their individual goals and future aspirations.

We truly appreciate Job Corps’ intentionality, partnership, and commitment to empowering young people through opportunity and education. Together, we are helping students shape brighter futures and break cycles of incarceration. 💙

Village Engagement Highlight 🎉

As the school year comes to a close, we’re celebrating every achievement, lesson, memory, and milestone that made this year so special. Our End-of-Year Celebration was a huge success and the perfect way to finish the year strong!

From gliding around the rink at Rollhaven to competing in action-packed laser tag battles, our students enjoyed an evening full of fun, laughter, teamwork, and lasting memories. The excitement continued with an Award Ceremony that featured heartfelt recognition, plenty of laughs, inside jokes, and special moments shared among students, families, and staff.

This incredible experience was made possible through a generous $1,926 donation from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. We were honored to receive these funds after a fellow youth-serving program selected the Motherly Intercession's RACS+ Program as the recipient of this award. Their support allowed us to create a meaningful opportunity for our students and families to celebrate a year of growth, hard work, and success together.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration such a memorable experience. Thank you for being an important part of our village and for continuing to invest in the growth, success, and well-being of our youth. Together, we make a difference. 💙
