Due to the State Covid-19 lockdown order Genesee County GIS staff will be working from home. We can provide support to user's of our public GIS viewer, Connect explorer users. We can respond to many other mapping questions. But we will have limited ability in some topic areas such as historical aerial imagery.

⭐️⭐️⭐️Accessing stacked up data⭐️⭐️⭐️
In the FetchGIS viewer you pretty much always have multiple layers of information stacked on top of one another. See images below. You can toggle each of these layers on and off to more accurately tailor your viewer to your needs.

Here's another handy feature of the Genesee County FetchGIS viewer -- access Google Streetview.
~
Sometimes the ortho (vertical) imagery and even the oblique imagery does not give the full picture. You can access Streetview with the 'extra links' tool.
~
You may encounter a blank window when using this from time to time, unfortunately there are still places in the County that do not have Streetview images and it can be a little tricky if you access this when not directly over a road. Tap the link below to get started!

Hello everyone and good morning! We have some fun aerial images to share with you. These are some of our dome-shaped structures that are sprinkled around the county. They are fairly easy to spot, even when you aren't looking for them.😊 Would you ever live in a dome home?

Repost: Check out the parcel data on Fetch!

Data Layer Spotlight: Property parcels.
This is a layer of over 190,000 polygons for the county most of which have parcel ID's. These were originally converted from paper maps between 1988 and 1992. While these are great for reference and general uses, there are several limitations in their precision and are no substitute for a survey. We are constantly striving to improve them. If you have concerns about how your parcel is drawn, feel free to contact us. Tap the link

Hello all, here's a quick little tutorial showing you how to access our Pictometry viewer inside Fetch. (Fetch is the site we posted about previously.) Within the Pictometry viewer, you can access four years of imagery back to 2006, view locations from the four cardinal directions in oblique view as well as straight down, export an unlimited number of PDF's, and there are no fees to use this part of our site. Let us know if you have any questions on how to use Fetch or Pictometry.
Happy locating!🌎
