What great progess our fantastic team of volunteers made!
The old door openings were fully framed and exterior walls completed.
The removal of the old wood and replacement of the front gable sections with Hardie board siding is coming along. Exterior painting soon to follow!

When completed this building will be used for meetings and training opportunities for Volunteer firefighters in Smith County and surrounding areas!

Next step: update and install the HVAC system. Then begin the interior remodel.

We already have a few generous local tradesman who have volunteered their time and talents plus some fantastic business who have donated supplies!

Thank you to our friends and neighbors in Smith County for the continued support!

Firefighters from across Smith County are working today at the old Flint-Gresham Station just north of the intersection of FM 2493 and FM 346. The building is being remodeled and will be used by the Smith County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association for its meetings and training events.

This building was originally built by the Flint-Gresham Volunteer Fire Department in 1974 and was added on to in 1992. It has served the citizens of the Flint-Gresham and surrounding communities with distinction and its service will now extend far beyond just the Flint-Gresham community.

Watch for great things to come!

Volunteer firefighters from across Smith County came together on Saturday for a full days training on wildland Firefighter skills. Many of these firefighters were completing the steps required to be certified as wildland firefighters through the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas.
Thank you to all our volunteer instructors and our volunteer first responders for working so diligently to be prepared for the call!
