Roads in the county are hazardous!
A significant amount of black ice is forming, and many roads are becoming extremely hazardous and, in some areas, impassable.
Travel at this time poses a serious risk to motorists and first responders. Please avoid all non-essential travel and remain at home if at all possible. If you must travel for an emergency, use extreme caution, reduce speed, and be aware that road conditions may change without warning.
🚨Urgent‼️🚨
**Update**
9:50AM 01/26/2026: TDOT just informed us all state roads except Shelbyville Hwy are back open. Drive slowly and with caution. For further updates from TDOT you can call 511 or check

6:45AM 01/26/2026: Roads are passable, but still covered in snow and patches of black ice. If you have to drive, drive slow and cautious!
8:00PM 01/25/2026: All state roads have been deemed closed by TDOT and all of our county and city roads are covered in black ice. Avoid all travel!
The roads in the city limits are deteriorating rapidly from freezing temperatures turning standing water into ice. Roads are currently being monitored for closure. Please stay home unless absolutely necessary. Thank you for your cooperation!
