NOTICE: NEW STOP SIGN

Please be advised that on August 11, 2026, the Town of Flora Board of Aldermen approved the installation of a stop sign on First Street at its intersection with Calhoun Street.

The stop sign is expected to be installed within the next few weeks. Please use caution and be mindful of this upcoming traffic change.

⚠️ BOIL WATER ALERT – HARRIS ROAD ⚠️

Please be advised that a Boil Water Alert is currently in effect for Harris Road due to a water main rupture.

Residents in the affected area should boil all water intended for drinking or consumption until further notice.

We will provide an update as soon as the boil water alert has been lifted.

⚠️ PLANNED ENTERGY POWER OUTAGE NOTICE ⚠️

Entergy has scheduled a planned power outage from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. tomorrow, July 7, to perform maintenance and reliability improvements. Approximately 90 homes and businesses within the Town of Flora will be affected.

Entergy has contacted each customer who is expected to be impacted by this planned outage.

Customers in the affected area are encouraged to plan accordingly by charging electronic devices and preparing for the temporary interruption of electrical service.

Please be advised that First Street will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, beginning at 7:30 a.m. for approximately eight hours due to utility work.

Motorists traveling east and west should use Jackson Street as a detour.

🚛 Garbage Collection Update

Please be advised that Waste Management is currently running behind schedule due to a garbage truck breakdown this morning.

Their crews are working to resolve the issue and will be making rounds this afternoon to ensure all garbage is collected.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Flora Police Department would like to extend congratulations to Lt. Jeff Kelly as a Top Cop award recipient. Lt. Kelly was presented the award at the Twentieth Annual Top Cop Awards Luncheon hosted by the MS Center of Police and Sheriffs Organization on May 12, 2026.

Be advised that the Town of Flora will be making rounds Wednesday, May 13, 2026, to pick up sticks and debris from the recent storms.

Please place any limbs you would like picked up at the edge of the road in a neat pile.
