We are thankful for our Mayor, Alderman and Supervisor for all the support of the Florence Library 🫶🏻

On Tuesday, April 21, Director Mara Villa Polk shared an exciting update with the City of Florence highlighting the continued success of the Florence Public Library and we’re proud to say it’s thriving! The library remains a vibrant hub for resources, learning, and community connection. We’re especially grateful for Taralah Rios and the leadership guiding the Florence Public Library to excellence.

As a reminder, the Central Mississippi Regional Library System includes 20 libraries across four counties, proudly serving Rankin, Scott, Simpson, and Smith Counties. Together, we are committed to providing access to information, technology, lifelong learning, and cultural enrichment for all. Thank you for supporting your local library—we couldn’t do it without you! 📚✨

It’s National Librarian Day and we celebrate the very best! Taralah, Zorean and Trisha we appreciate you very much for your love for patrons and community

Tuesday, April 21, 2026 is National Library Workers Day (NLWD), a time to recognize library professionals for their expertise and leadership skills in transforming lives and communities through education and lifelong learning. The day also reminds the public that library workers serve as community compasses that lead users to endless opportunities for engagement, enrichment, and development.

From helping patrons find their next great read to organizing programs, answering questions, and creating welcoming spaces for all, our library workers do it all—and they do it with passion and care.

Please join us in thanking our amazing library workers for everything they do to support our community every single day. We appreciate you more than words can say!
