For more than 60 years, the Friends group has helped provide the programs, events, and resources that transform our library from a building filled with books into a vibrant center of learning and connection for our entire community.

Check out the fun programs we have for adults going all day long for our Love Your Library Day:

📚 FoFCL Book Swap
Our awesome Friends of Florence County Library are hosting a book swap all day long. Bring 1 to 3 gently read books to donate and pick out the same number of new titles to take home.

🎨Paint-A-Partner @ 12:30 pm
Bring a friend, partner, or anyone else to this drop-in painting session and paint each other's portrait! We'll bring the paint, you bring the partner.

🖍 Family Crafternoon from 2 pm - 4 pm
Bring the whole family for this drop-in event where everyone will have a chance to let their imaginations go wild and create fun crafts to take home!

🧶Sip & Stitch in the Stacks from 4 pm - 6 pm
Bring your own portable craft such as knitting, crochet, sewing, cross stitch, and other fiber arts and come chat and collaborate with your fellow crafters! Complimentary coffee and tea will be offered, but lids are required because this session will be meeting in the stacks!

🀄Mahjong Open Play from 5 pm - 6:30 pm
Ready to play some mahjong? Drop in to this program where we provide the space, and you can bring your game sets to play a few rounds and meet other mahjong lovers like you!

🤫The Quiet Chapter SBC: SC Room
Bring whatever book you're in the middle of at the moment, in any format (audiobooks count!). We will start by all reading together silently, then at the end, there will be a chance to share about your book, hear from others about novels you may want to pick up in the future, and on this special occasion, there will be time to explore our reading location: The South Carolina Room.

Hey there, parents! Looking for something fun to do with your kids this week? Bring them to Love Your Library Day 💚 From babies to teens, we have a little something for everyone!

🚼Baby Social Hour (Baby Connections) @ 9 AM
Our first meeting of a brand-new program where babies and their caregivers can enjoy a relaxed hour of playtime and socialization in a welcoming and low-pressure setting.

🎶Music & Movement Storytime @ 10 AM
This musical favorite is getting a special twist, with guests, a certain blue puppy and brown puppy, from Glass Slipper Solutions joining in on the fun! There will be time for pictures after the storytime.

Tomorrow is the big day!!!

Join us for an afternoon Meet & Greet with Susan Zurenda as she discusses, "No Way Out But Through" her searing new novel inspired by the real life of a woman who overcame an appalling childhood and forced child marriage. Susan’s complex characters capture readers’ hearts and don’t let go in this deeply emotional story of two women of different generations—one the victim of an abusive teen marriage and the other damaged from her former marriage to an alcoholic husband—who meet under odd circumstances.
