Recreation Reminder: Girls on the Run Beginning Fall 2026 in Roebling!

New Program Affiliated with Florence Township Recreation and Florence Township Health & Wellness Initiative - GIRLS ON THE RUN!

We've recently finalized coordination with Girls on the Run New Jersey East to provide an exciting opportunity for our youth in Florence Township.

The Fall offering will begin in mid-September in Roebling. Interested families, please follow the QR Code to sign up, dust off your running shoes and get ready to make new friends, learn from dedicated instructors and HAVE FUN!

The program will be looking for additional coaches, so if anyone is interested in supporting this newly offered wellness initiative, please let us know.

Health & Wellness Program Update

Beginning Wednesday, September 2nd, our Yoga class will be shifting to a day session, which will run from 11am to Noon each week.

This is a free program sponsored by the Recreation Committee's Health & Wellness Initiative.

Recycling Center - Early Closure Today

The Florence Township Recycling Center unexpectedly needed to close at 4pm today. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The center will reopen tomorrow under normal hours from 11am to 5pm.

Notice to All Residents

We are reaching out to our residents, families, and local photographers to take part in building the photo content for the 2027 Florence Township Community Calendar.

Our various departments each year work together to piece together the annual calendar, and many times we receive some of our best photos from residents in the community that are able to capture exciting memories from events and activities that are taking place around town. With several months remaining in 2026, there is time to get creative and take photos of things that may land on some of the pages of the 2027 calendar.

We go to print by mid-November, but in the meantime, skim your archives and send us some good stuff to consider!

Whether you’re an experienced dancer or just want to come out, have some fun, and learn a few new steps, this is the perfect night to gather your friends and enjoy some time together.

FLORENCE TOWNSHIP HEALTH & WELLNESS POP UP EVENT!

In addition to our weekly wellness class offerings, we are trying something new with a Pop Up Event at Nyikita Field on Saturday, August 22nd!

Bring your energy to the park for Pilates & Poppi! This FREE event will get you outdoors with friends, neighbors and participants of all ages. Let's make it an exciting experience and see how many of our residents we can get out there to join us!

Wednesday - Functional Fitness 7:15 to 8:15pm

Thursday - Gentle Fitness 11am to Noon

Thursday - Yoga 6:30 to 7:30pm

Don't forget to visit our beautiful waterfront parks to enjoy fishing, bird watching or just relaxing. Visit the Eagle Scout Exercise stations at Roebling Park, stroll the 5th Street walking path, municipal complex grounds & field areas. Walk, run and bike with friends, throw a frisbee, play kickball with your neighbors, or take to the courts to shoot hoops or try out our newly renovated tennis & pickleball courts!
