We are incredibly grateful to the Western Lane Community Foundation for their generous $8,000 grant supporting Florence Food Share through the Increasing Regional Whole Foods for Florence Food Share Clients program.

This funding has helped us provide fresh, nutritious milk to our community from May 2025 through April 2026—making a real difference for families across Western Lane County.

Since May 12, 2025, Florence Food Share has served 1,995 unique households and 5,142 individuals. When including repeat visits, that impact grows to an astounding 18,758 household visits and 44,727 people served.

Access to wholesome, essential foods like milk plays a vital role in nourishing our neighbors, and this grant has helped make that possible.

Thank you, Western Lane Community Foundation, for your continued commitment to improving lives in our community. Together, we are truly nourishing the community, one meal at a time.

Thank you to First Community Credit Union for their generous $2,500 donation in support of our operations.

Elm Park Apartments and Elm Park Early Learning Center Update:

“Twenty units will be ready for occupancy on June 1, and the remaining 12 units by July 15. It is a family-oriented project with 16 2-bedroom units, 10 3-bedroom units, and 6 1-bedroom units. Sixteen units are reserved for families at or under 30%, 40%, and 50% of AMI. The other sixteen units are reserved for families at or under 60% of AMI, but our rents will be lower than Lane County's 60% rents due to Banner Bank's participation in the OAHTC program.

I am currently maintaining an "interested party" list to turn over to our rental manager in a few weeks. For that list, I need a name, a preference for a 1-, 2-, or 3-bedroom unit, the number of household members, a telephone number, and an email address. Folks on my list will receive an application when it is released, likely around March 1.

Information about the units, including floor plans, is available at this link: https://www.cascade-management.com/property/elm-park/details.

We also have a co-located early learning center, which will have two Head Start classrooms and two classrooms staffed by community provider Stepping Stones Center for Early Learning, LLC, whose principal is Jennifer Lukashev. Residents of the apartments will have a preference for childcare slots at the early learning center.”

Please reach out to 541-902-3507 or [email protected] for waitlist and further details.
