Florence VFD Jr. Firefighters The Florence V.F.D. Jr. Firefighter program is designed around young men and women between the ages of 14-17. Mandatory attendance as well as Jr.

Student will be harnessing the objectives of promoting teamwork between each other, developing leadership skills for life and learning the Fire Department organizational standards with discipline. A "Hands-On" approach is a key element that will be used allowing the individual to experience the internal operations and structure of the fire service first hand under the watchful eye of adult supervi

sion. The individual will be held to the standards of a "Pass-to-Play" rule that encompasses being able to present an official progress report from their school indicating their eligibility throughout the program. Guardians are also given the right to set their own standards for the student as they see fit. Weekly Meetings/Trainings will be scheduled around any extra curricular activities for school or church. Firefighter evaluations will take place at every meeting as well for identifying a positive growth and knowledge retention of skills learned.
