CHRISTMAS GATHERING AND DECEMBER MEETING: THURSDAY, 6PM, 12/09/21, VFW
Something new: please respond to this email to let me know if our email list is good. The third and eleventh replies will receive a gift certificate!
Hello everyone and hope this finds you well and that Thanksgiving was a wonderful time with family and friends. Even with the deaths, disruptions, losses, and frustrations of the pandemic, we have much to be thankful for as we enter the Hopes and Promises Advent Season. Regardless of new covid variants we have our faith, and we have each other.
For the many members and visitors of our Detachment that attended the Birthday Ball we have wonderful memories of a very special evening. The beautiful venue of the Performing Arts Center, the excellent meal, beautiful Birthday Cake, and our guest speaker, Dr. Fred Carter’s inspiring message combine to lift and inspire us to come together and rebuild our Detachment! I only wish we had the means to capture all of that and deliver it to all who could not be there and to recharge again and again those of us who were there.
Remember that our entire Birthday Ball this year was a gift – truly a gift! The meal and the venue were free to our members and Detachment, paid for by a grant, a challenge grant, challenging us to come back together, to rebuild, to be there for each other and our community. We need to do that! It will be good, feel good, to do that! WE HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED! WE ARE MARINES AND WE NEED TO BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER, OUR FELLOW MARINES! COME TOGETHER AGAIN FOR OUR DECEMBER MEET AND KEEP COMING!
DECEMBER MEET AND CHRISTMAS GATHERING:
So here we are about to enter the Second Week of Advent, time to celebrate the season and we have a great opportunity! Members, wives, and guests, please come together next week, Thursday, 6 PM, December 9th, at the VFW, our regular meeting time for a meal (order off the menu), and the very briefest of business meetings. Even though this is a very low-key event, we will have a little Seasonal Fun and Cheer!
IN KEEPING WITH LOW-KEY: We will have a few very cheesy gifts for randomly chosen recipients. You would not want to miss out!
BE THERE! HAVE A MEAL, HAVE FELLOWSHIP, ATTEND OUR MEETING AND REACH OUT TO YOUR FELLOW MARINES TO BE THERE. BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER!
QUESTIONS OR IF I CAN HELP, PLEASE CALL ME.
SEMPER FI!
