Planning an outdoor adventure this summer? We’ve got two types of passes you can check out for free with your library card:

🚗 Oregon State Parks parking permits are new to our library this year! They are for day use only and cover one vehicle. You can use them at as many state parks as you like during the checkout period. They do not include overnight, camping, or extra vehicles.

🌲 Central Cascades Wilderness permits are good for day use and overnight for up to 12 people. They cover the Central Cascades Wilderness Permit system and Willamette and Deschutes National Forests. You may still need a valid recreation pass in addition to this permit.

Both types of passes check out for 7 days. Ask for more information at the front desk. Happy travels!

Free summer lunches are back at the library! From June 15 to August 6, kids and teens ages 1-18 can get a free grab-and-go lunch every Monday-Thursday in the Florence location's Maple Street parking lot, plus breakfast for the next day. (Thursday pickup will include meals for Friday.) No registration required. Just stop by!

Lunches will also be available at the Mapleton branch during open library hours. Call 541-268-4033 for more information on dates and availability in Mapleton.

Join us for a look at this year's new endowment books on Tuesday, June 23, 1 PM in the Bromley Room. The library's endowment fund is made possible by generous donations from individuals and community organizations. We use these funds to purchase all kinds of interesting, educational, or unique books for the collection. Come check out some of the books we've gotten in the past year!

This Saturday!! Free program: What Does Freedom Depend On? Saturday, June 13, 1 PM at the library.

Join us for a timely discussion with Oregon Humanities Conversation Project program director Jennifer Alkezweeny on the subject of freedom. We'll consider the Bill of Rights, how individual freedoms intersect with the freedom of others, how those freedoms might be changing, and more. Free and open to all; no registration required.
