April 16, 2026 – CBI – Florence, CO –The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is assisting the Florence Police Department (FPD) in actively investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Saturday afternoon in Florence.

FLORENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT- ACTIVE INVESTIGATION

FLORENCE, Colo. (April 12, 2026) On the afternoon of April 11, 2026, the Florence Police Department responded to a report of a shooting incident on Railroad Street located within the Florence Police Department jurisdiction. Upon initial assessment, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation was contacted to assist.

This was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Railroad Street has reopened for local traffic, including access to the bulk water station.

At this time, no additional information is available, as the investigation remains active and ongoing. Further updates will be provided as appropriate or available.

URGENT PUBLIC NOTICE

The Florence Police Department is currently investigating a shooting with assistance from local law enforcement agencies. There is a significant law enforcement presence in the area.

At this time, the suspect is in custody, and there is no active threat to the community.

Residents are asked to avoid Railroad Street and surrounding areas and to use alternate routes until further notice. Your cooperation is appreciated as authorities conduct their investigation and work to ensure public safety.

The bulk water station is closed until further notice.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Hello Florence community! We are asking for the public's assistance in locating a stolen dirt bike. The attached photo is the type and style of the missing bike, not an exact photo of the dirt bike itself. It is a 98 Ktm 380, 2 stroke. No current pictures of the bike are available but the photo attached matches the bike's appearance. The bike was reported missing on 3/27/26 but was last seen on 3/24. If anyone sees the dirt bike or has any information on its whereabouts, please contact the Florence Police Department - Colorado at 719-784-3411 option 7 or by contacting the non-emergency dispatch number at 719-792-6411.
