City of Florence Employee Wellness Program Better Health through Better Living All full-time employees can join the Wellness Program. To be considered for year-end awards, participants must:

1.

Employee Wellness Program:

The Employee Wellness Program is specifically designed to help participants set, track, and reach their wellness goals through several no-fee resources. A registration form must be completed and submitted to Human Resources each year to be eligible for year-end prizes and a no-fee or subsidized gym membership. Register to become a Wellness Program member.
2. Participate

in an annual bio-metric health screening.
3. Complete an Initial Consultation with our nurse practitioner to design measurable and obtainable health goals.
4. Complete a Final Consultation to evaluate progress towards goals. Year-end awards are available to those who achieve 50%, 75%, and 100% of their health goals.

8 Key Components of Wellness:

• Social | Your ability to relate to, connect with, establish, and maintain positive relationships with family, friends, and co-workers.

• Physical | Your ability and decision to care for your body, mind, health, and vitality through healthy choices, habits, physical activity, nutrition, sleep health, and hydration.

• Emotional | Your ability to understand and cope with the challenges life can bring.

• Intellectual | Your ability to open your mind to new ideas and experiences that can be applies to personal decisions, group interaction, and personal betterment.

• Environmental | Your ability and willingness to recognize the importance for the quality of the air, water, and land that surrounds us, and through participation, help make a positive impact on our environment.

• Financial | Your knowledge and implementation of the skill sets necessary to effectively manage your finance and financial needs in the present and in the future.

• Spiritual | Your personal convictions involving your values and beliefs that help and guide you on your journey of life.

• Career | Your ability to obtain persona fulfillment from your job or career while maintaining balance in your life. Social Media Public Use and Comment Policy:

The City of Florence’s social media outlets are limited public forums, comparable to the citizen input section of its Council meeting, and public comments are subject to appropriate time, place, and manner regulations. The City reserves the right to screen, delete or hide the following inappropriate content form its social media pages:

• Comments that are not relevant to the post or topic being discussed
• Profane, obscene, violent or pornographic content
• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates harassment or discrimination based on race, creed, color, age, religion, gender or national origin
• Defamatory comments or personal attacks
• Comments in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaigns or ballot measures
• Solicitation of commerce, including but not limited to advertising any business, service or product of sale
• Spam which could potentially create computer safety concerns to page participants
• Conduct which violates federal, state or local laws

Week 5 of the Fall into Fitness challenge is in full gear! 💥 City of Florence employees are extending their walk durations to 45 minutes, ramping up brisk walking intervals, and tackling more challenging terrain. 🏞️ This week also brings the Step Count Challenge! The "golden standard" is 10,000 steps per day, but employees can aim for anywhere between 7,000–15,000 steps depending on their fitness level. It’s all about pushing personal limits while preparing for the 2025 P*e Dee Heart Walk. Let’s keep the support going as they crush it! 💪
