Coast Guard Station Siuslaw River has changed their Station Business/SAR phone number to 206-815-6720. This phone number is for general station business or bar reports only. The previously listed phone number will be disconnected on or about July 11th 2025.

The following contact numbers should be used for reporting emergencies to the Coast Guard.

i. Emergencies or Search and Rescue: Sector Columbia River 833-769-8724 or 911.
ii. Report of Pollution: National Response Center by calling 1-800-424-8802.
iii. Report of Marine Casualties or Waterways Concerns 833-769-8724.

This easter wasn’t egg-sactly what we were expecting but it was a treat nonetheless 💐! The crew of Station Siuslaw river got a call from some-BUNNY 🐰to respond 20 miles off shore to a 44’ fishing vessel in distress. Upon arrival at the scene the crew put the vessel into a 650’ stern tow (Easter said than done!) and took the boat back to Station Yaquina Bays area of residence and they took him back to port. ALERT: A Tsunami Warning is in effect for areas of Oregon & Northern California, go to tsunami.gov for alert areas.

Boat Operators, where time and conditions permit, move your boat out to sea to a depth of at least 180 feet.

If at sea, avoid entering shallow water, harbors, marinas, bays, and inlets to avoid floating and submerged debris and strong currents.

DO NOT go to the shore to observe the tsunami.

DO NOT return to the coast until local emergency officials indicate it is safe to do so.

OY-Sir 🦪, did you know today 3 of our shipmates got the SEAL🦭 of approval to become qualified as coxswain and boatcrew members! It took months of rigorous study and MUSSEL-ing 🦪 their way through the qualification packet to get certified. They are no doubt on the RHOD-y 🌺to success!

TOW-tally awesome SAR case today. I’d be LINE if I said the weather was good but that didn’t change our attitudes a BITT! We got underway at 0700 and put the 48ft fishing vessel in a 600ft tow and took them down to station Umpqua River. We were happy as a clam to see our southern friends and safely transfer the fishing vessel to them to be brought home.
