Mike Monreal, Wilson County Judge Elect 2026

Mike Monreal, Wilson County Judge Elect 2026 I am a Regional Vice President for a top tier Project Management and Construction Company (Civil Engineer). My service does not stop here.

My extensive experience managing regional organizations, Billion-dollar budgets, leading hundreds of employees/first responders, developing master plans, capital programs, and sustaining infrastructure, gives me the expertise to be our next County Judge. I have many years of extensive experience in managing large regional organizations with Billion-dollar budgets, overseeing hundreds of employees

and first responders, and developing capital programs and sustaining infrastructure. I retired as a Navy Captain (O-6) and my career spanned 28 years in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy. During my career, I commanded many units including a Navy Seabee Battalion and a Field Engineering Command. As a decorated combat veteran and Regional Engineer, I have been recognized with the Legion of Merit (x2), Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (x3) and numerous other military awards. After a long and accomplished military career, I still have a desire to continue to give back to the country that offered me such extraordinary opportunities. Because of my desire for continued service, I provided leadership in the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) for our Senate District 21 from 2022-2024. I am also a life member of several organizations including the NRA, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Navy Seabee Veterans of America (NSVA). I truly believe I can best serve the citizens of Wilson County and all of Texas as Our next County Judge. As a young man, I received a Bachelor of Science Undergraduate Degree ('91) and a Master of Engineering Degree ('01), both in Civil Engineering, from Texas A&M University. I later achieved an Executive Business Certification in Organizational Management from Stanford University ('14). In 2021, I was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate of the Texas A&M Zachry Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. In May of that same year, I was awarded the title of Fellow in the Society of American Military Engineers for my exemplary servant leadership and outstanding work ethic.

Why support the Wilson County First Responder Wild Game Dinner?

The answer is simple — because your support goes right back to the first responders who serve our community every day.

Last year, funds raised through the Wild Game Dinner allowed us to provide a grant to Wilson County ESD #2 to purchase an Adult Advanced Life Support Training Manikin, giving local first responders the opportunity to train and strengthen their lifesaving skills.

We were also able to sponsor personnel from multiple agencies to attend a Critical Incident Stress Management and Peer Support class, providing them with valuable tools to support the mental health and well-being of our first responders.

We are incredibly proud to provide opportunities like these, but we couldn’t do it without the generosity of our community.

Want to support this year’s Wild Game Dinner? There are several ways to get involved! Purchase tickets to attend, donate an item or prize for our silent auction, become a sponsor, or reach out to learn about other opportunities to help.

Every ticket purchased, every donation, and every sponsorship helps us continue giving back to those who are always there for us.

Thursday night's Opry was another huge success! The Showbarn was packed out, the band was amazing (as usual😉), the catering was delicious, and the live classic country music was perfect! Wyatt Aleman looks and sounds like the legendary Hank Williams and performed in two completely separate outfits for the evenings events during his two sets. He played for the Wilson County Historical Society last year when they opened the historic jailhouse in downtown Floresville as well.

I had a chance to walk around and talk with so many of you and it does my heart good to see each and every one of you there. It was a beautiful evening filled with friends, waltzing, and two stepping with my beautiful bride of my youth! Thank you to each and every volunteer that helped, from the donations for the arm stretch tickets, to walking around and selling same said tickets, to the event setup, and especially to the breaking down and cleaning up afterwards as it makes for a long night, but the hard work and effort definitely shows!

Stephanie and I had an incredible evening at the Denim and Diamonds with friends raising money for our local community hospital, Connally Memorial Medical Center. The money raised helps keep our local hospital up to date with equipment, technology, and many other items and the community turned up with their hearts open! Congratulations to each of the winners of the auctions, ticket pulls, and chip pulls. Thank you so much to each and every volunteer that makes this amazing event possible, from those who donate items, to those who set up and break down, and to those out doing the social media and selling tickets! Every single one makes a difference and it is obvious! It was a fun evening and we look forward to next year.

Our VFW Post 8555 hosted a luncheon today to honor volunteers, the volunteer of the year, local businesses that support the VFW and to celebrate our Voice of Democracy scholarship winner. Thank you to each of the volunteers that help set up and break down for events like this, otherwise these celebrations are not possible. It was an afternoon of food, fun, and fellowship!

The Wilson County 4-H held their annual Awards Banquet on the evening of Sunday, July 12th. It was an honor to be among the many folks who were able to present some awards to these amazing young people who are so accomplished. There were County, District and State awards given out and speeches from outgoing seniors and lots of cheering and clapping. It is so heartwarming to see these dedicated students achieve such great things and they truly have a heart for what they are learning and mentoring to one another. The Showbarn was beautifully decorated and again, none of it is possible without the many hands of the volunteers behind the scenes. Thank you for inviting Stephanie and I to be a part of such a special evening.
