π EMS Is Essential β Let's Make It Official in New Jersey
When you call 911 for a medical emergency, you expect an ambulance to arrive quickly. The reality is that EMS is still not recognized as an essential service under New Jersey law, and many municipalities do not provide dedicated funding to ensure ambulance coverage.
Without sustainable funding and support, local EMS agencies face increasing challenges in maintaining staffing, equipment, training, and rapid response capabilities.
Recognizing EMS as an essential service would help create opportunities for funding, grants, and service agreements that strengthen emergency medical care throughout New Jersey.
For Florham Park residents, the question is simple:
β±οΈDo you want a locally based EMS team capable of responding in minutes, or are you comfortable relying on distant resources that may have significantly longer response times during emergencies?
Florham Park EMS has proudly served our community with dedicated local providers who know our neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and residents. We are committed to continuing that mission, but long-term sustainability requires action.
β
Support legislation recognizing EMS as an Essential Service in New Jersey.
β
Support local EMS agencies that provide rapid, community-based emergency medical care.
Because when every minute matters, local EMS matters.
