So proud to reveal this finished project to the community. This project has been in the works by the Village Council for several years. We are so proud to see it complete so that we can honor our country, state, and every branch of our armed services. There is more to come on this project in the future!

The Village of Florien would like to formally announce the appointment of Stormie Pilcher as a Council Member during a special called meeting held on Thursday April 23rd.
She will be filling the vacated seat of Council Member Suzanne Williams.
Mrs Pilcher was appointed by Mayor Jones with approval of the council.
She is shown taking her oath of office given by Clerk of Court Shelly Salter.

Qualifying for the permanent seat will be held in July for the election in November.
We extend our congratulations and appreciation for
Mrs Pilcher’s willingness to serve the community. We look forward to her contributions and leadership in supporting the continued growth and success of our village.

Join us for Love the Boot Cleanup Day!

Our annual Village of Florien-Love the Boot Cleanup Day is taking place Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 8 A.M. at Florien City Hall.

Lets come together as a community to take pride in our town and keep it clean and beautiful for everyone! Whether you can stay for a little while or the whole morning, every helping hand makes a difference!

PSA: At approximately 7:15 a.m. this morning, the Florien Police Department was dispatched to a minor traffic accident at the intersection of West Port Arthur and East Front Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that the subject was unresponsive. Once entry was made into the car, a weapon and drug paraphernalia were located. The subject was taken into custody, and charges are pending. Agencies responding included the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Department, South Sabine Fire and First Responders, and Acadian Ambulance.

Notification: The maintenance crew is addressing a leak south of town.

City Hall will be closed in observance of the Holidays on the following dates:

December 24th, Christmas Eve, December 25th, Christmas Day, and December 26th, the day after Christmas.

December 31st, New Year's Eve, January 1st, New Year's Day, and January 2nd, the day after New Year's Day.

We will resume regular business hours on the next scheduled business day.

Thank you, and we wish you a safe and happy holiday season.

The trash truck will run as usual on Friday, Dec. 26th, and Friday, Jan 2nd.

Office Closure 12-16-2025
The Village of Florien office will be closed on Tuesday, December 16th, for repairs to the electrical breaker. We will re-open on Wednesday, December 17th.

The guys will still pick up Trash.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Parade Line-up:
-Front of Florien High School
- Golf Carts
- Side X Sides
- 4 Wheelers
- No loud pipes allowed, and all ATVs must be parked after the parade.
Show up with your decorated rides, and let’s make this parade unforgettable!

Join us for a festive evening filled with community spirit and holiday cheer. We will turn on the Christmas lights, announce the winners of the Christmas Tree Contest, and have vendors, entertainment, and food!
Santa Claus will make an appearance.
Let's celebrate together!
