Last week, members of the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District traveled to Indian River Rescue School to complete the Swift Water Rescue Technician certification course.

This intensive, hands-on training focused on critical skills including moving water dynamics, victim rescue techniques, boat operations, and team-based rescue scenarios in challenging environments. Our personnel trained alongside agencies from across the country, enhancing both their technical abilities and their ability to operate effectively in high-risk water rescue situations.

We are proud of their dedication to advancing their training and ensuring we are prepared to respond when our community needs us most.

Valley Fire candidates spent time training with the squad this week, sharpening their skills in vehicle extrication. From tool operations to teamwork under pressure, these hands-on evolutions are critical in preparing firefighters to respond when seconds matter most.

We would also like to thank Bolin for allowing us the opportunity to come on site for this training.

We’re proud of the hard work and dedication these candidates continue to show as they train while serving our community safely and professionally.

There’s nothing quite like the Florissant Valley Of Flowers!

Our families had an incredible time celebrating alongside this amazing community during this year’s parade. From the smiling faces along the route to the kids waving at the trucks, events like these remind us why we’re proud to serve Florissant every day.

We’re already looking forward to next year!

Last week, members of the Valley Fire Protection District took their skills to new heights...literally...during an intensive Tower Rescue training course.

Florissant Firefighter/Paramedics trained on specialized techniques used in high-angle and elevated rescues, sharpening their ability to safely and efficiently reach victims in some of the most challenging environments. From mastering rope systems to building confidence at extreme heights, this training ensures our firefighters are prepared for whatever call comes in.

We’re proud of the dedication our members show to continuous learning and keeping our community safe. Well done, men!
