I want to thank everybody who organized and attended Iftar at the beautiful new masjid yesterday. In particular, a special thanks to Derek France for accepting his invitation and joining us in prayer and dinner. In our continued efforts to unite, we will always extend our hand in solidarity.

The Town of Flower Mound Parks and Recreation Department is in the process of developing a Trails and Bikeways Master Plan. Yesterday I had the pleasure of joining their visioning public open house.

The open house was structured for residents to identify key destinations where sidewalks, trails, and bikeways should be provided or improved.

Have you noticed on Garden Road that it is missing sidewalks on both sides, from the church to Forestwood Middle School? This was my biggest suggestion as this is a safety need. I learned on the campaign trail that there have been a few scares with some children walking home, on Garden Road.

Neighbors and friends, although only early metrics are out, I have come to the end of an unbelievable journey. The great people of Flower Mound have spoken, and they have spoken clearly. I congratulate Mr Gelbman & Mr France for making it into the runoff to be our Mayor. I will look forward to working with them and all of my fellow candidates, in the future.

I want to thank my husband first and foremost who has always supported me in all of my decisions. He is my biggest fan and I’m blessed to have him. I’m also grateful for our two year old son in being so amazingly flexible the last several months. I’m looking forward to making up all the nights I missed rocking him to sleep!

I’d also have been lost without the amazing guidance and support from some of our community leaders and organizers. Thank you for all you’ve done!

I didn’t wake up wanting to be your Mayor, rather I couldn’t sleep at the thought of somebody else being our Mayor. However, the people have spoken.

Know that this journey has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, I will always be grateful for you.

You’ll see me again, but for now, the next time you see me at Kroger or Target come say hello 👋
